Dear new diary,

I’m calling you “new diary” because my old one was destroyed in the fire, and daddy bought you for me because he thought I needed “a way to vent” as he called it. So I guess I should write about myself incase like 50 years from now someone finds you.

Well my dads nor really my dad my REAL dad left before I was born. I like to think he didn’t know my mom was even pregnant. My mom married James when I was 10 but they where dating when I was like 9 years old so he’s basically my dad.

I don’t think my mom really likes me she says she “loves me” but I think she just thinks she has to because I’m her kid. She had me when she was 16 I know it was hard trying to raise me alone.

I’m a junior in high school and I’m not very smart that’s why I have you and not my old diary ;I started a grease fire it was an accident and small but it still ruined out counter (where my old diary was). Mom says I look just like my father (that might be why she doesn’t like me) but when I ask about him she just says “He’s not important James is your dad” I finally just stopped asking. I have dark brown hair and a few freckles on my cheeks, and very tan skin. I’m about 5 ’2 and around 100 pounds. I’m not goth or emo but I’m not a prep, and I’m not smart enough to be a nerd so I don’t really know what you’d call me. My best friend’s names Amanda she is goth but if you where blind you wouldn’t know it (she talks like a cheerleader); but we‘ve known each other since 2nd grad before she was goth…ish. She gave me my 1st diary and said I should write in it like I’m writing to a friend.

Its getting late and I have to get up early so ill write more later
